Portrait of Rich Ontario
About Rich Ontario

Detroit-born.
Plain-spoken.
Unbought.

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I came up watching regular people — my neighbors, my family, my whole city — get steamrolled by an economy nobody ever bothered to explain to them. The cost of groceries, the cost of rent, the cost of being broke when you shouldn't have been: all of it traced back to a system that was deliberately kept too complicated to challenge.

I'm not an economist. I'm not a politician. I'm a citizen who got tired of pretending the emperor had clothes. I sat down and wrote the book I wish someone had handed me at twenty-two — an honest, plainspoken walk through how America stacked up $40 trillion in debt and what that means for the dollar in your pocket.

If this work resonates with you, you're not alone. There are millions of us out here who simply want the truth told straight. That's all I'm trying to do here.

Influences

Standing on shoulders.

I owe an enormous debt to the writers and educators who refused to dilute the truth. This book exists because their work existed first.

Malcolm X

Clarity, courage, and refusal to be talked down to.

Dr. Claude Anderson

Economic empowerment as the real civil right.

Dr. Boyce Watkins

Financial literacy as everyday self-defense.

The Mission

Financial literacy as everyday self-defense.

Every American deserves a basic, honest, jargon-free understanding of the economy they live inside. Not a textbook. Not a sermon. Not a sales pitch. Just the truth, in human language, given freely. That's what I'm here to do — in this book, in the next book, and in everything that comes after it.
